About Kristiana

From a young age, Kristiana Perini was always eager to help out in the kitchen and knew she wanted to be a chef. She had two strong women in her life who sparked her love for cooking. Her paternal grandmother brought the whole family together weekly to share wonderful Italian meals including handmade ravioli, mushroom risotto, and polenta with Alpine stew, and her mother always made it a priority to have delicious home cooked meals ready each night despite her long work hours.

Kristiana attended the University of Delaware, where she earned an honors degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management and minored in Italian. Over her college summers and often on weekends during the school year, she worked in the pastry kitchen at Ritz Carlton, Washington DC. After a few extended periods in Italy, including working at a hotel in Tuscany while in college, she moved to Napa Valley and attended the accelerated culinary arts program at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena, CA where she graduated at the top of her class. From there, she worked in several top restaurants in Napa Valley, including the Michelin starred Auberge du Soleil.

Upon moving to Charlotte, Kristiana took a brief hiatus from professional kitchens but continued frequently hosting dinners for family and friends. After many requests for her to become a personal chef to her friends, Sorellina Pasta Co. was born.
